The built-in microphones on DSLR, mirrorless, cinema and video cameras sound terrible, but if you use the Saramonic CaMixerwith your camera, your audio will be elevated to broadcast quality. The CaMixer supplies you with two excellent-sounding condenser microphones, and you can also use the XLR microphone of your choice. A built-in headphone jack lets you listen to everything you shoot, and the entire package is compact and ultraportable.

The lightweight CaMixer runs on a single 9-volt battery and comes with two low-profile condenser microphones that plug directly into it. These mics can swivel up and down and rotate to point at people and other sound sources. A mini-XLR input on the side makes it possible to connect professional microphones, and a switch applies +48 volts of phantom power for using shotgun condensers and other kinds of microphones.

A large, stepped gain knob lets you easily dial-in perfect levels, and the backlit display lets you see your audio and battery meters. You can switch between recording and playback modes to listen to your videos through the CaMixer’s headphone jack. A shoe mount is provided at the top to attach microphones, lights or other equipment, and a tripod thread at the base enables you to mount to a camera.
